Petzl – Gully Ice Axe – Ice Axe

If you think you won’t be needing an ice axe but would like to have one just in case, the Gully Ice Axe from Petzl is the way to go. This compact ice axe was designed for ski touring, steep skiing and technical mountaineering, so it has quite the minimalist, lightweight design. Still, the steel head is very strong, and the tapered pick penetrates the ice with ease.
The shaft is made out of lightweight aluminium and comes complete with an ergonomic handle that feels great. A nice little extra is the Trigrest hand rest, which allows for multiple hand positions and can be adjusted without using tools.
